Postby marlan99 » 04 Feb 2013, 12:41

Hi There,

i received my GVIF with special Cable for my Range Rover MY 2007. Everythings seems ok instead that i can not see any Picture or GVIF Menu.
It stay black or white with some color noise. Are there different versions of the GVIF?

Any hint what i can test?

Original NAV works
CAN switch with the Button from the NAV works
Switch with the Remote works (but not the MENU)

Tested Input: AV2, AV3, REAR-C -> no Picture

please, provide video where we can clearly see where the cables are going, marking of the cables, places of connection and what is displayed on the screen.

Hi Yuretz,

i tried to make the video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLeN4NSuI64

in the last seconds of the video you can not see the Picture from the Rear Cam because of the Light.
So i had to stop the video disable the light and record again. This you will see here:

i hope you got what you need. otherwise just tell me.

thanks and regards

Where did you connect - near the monitor or navigation unit?
1. Swap places of LVDS in/out wire on the interface.
2. if it doesn't help - swap places of the red and yellow wires on the LVDS cable
3. The connected sources should support PAL format

Hi Yuretz,

thank you for the suggestions but it does not work.

1. Display says "no Nav available"
2. Display says "no Nav available"
3. Tested with PAL and NTSC Source. Same result

So when the GVIF is powerd an i can see and use the Original Navigation, the Cables are connected correctly.
I tried some different DIP Switch positions. At last i stayed with ON, ON, ON, ON, OFF, ON, ON, OFF.

This means for me all Sources are disabled (except CVBS4 for the Rear Cam with switch 7)
Switch 5 means used for Range Rover and Switch 6 means used with original Navigation.

When i try one of the Input AV1 - AV3 there are some disturbing colors (white with some colored lines) and when i power off the Cam the screen stays black.

Any other hint for the Dip Switch positions or the other Cables to use?
Otherwise it seems to be that this GVIF is not working.

regards
Marcel

Hello,
What will be the result if you do not connect the video source to the interface and turn the power on? Is the situation the same as if you connected camera or the screen is just black?

When i activate one of the AV1-3 inputs without a video source connected and then power on the gvif it switches immediatly to a black screen.
I can push the ok button from the remote and the Nav screen is back again.

With a video source connected the screen is white with some lines. I tried 3 different devices one NTSC format, one PAL and one device with a switch from NTSC to PAL. always the same white picture.
With the white screen and then push the MENU Button from the remote you can see more lines "walking" through the screen.
