BMW High Definition IW06B-N23 Interface

Postby steveM5 » 03 May 2016, 14:01

A few issues.

1. On Power/ CAN cable, there are now 2 sets of CAN wires. CAN IN and CAN OUT. What are CAN OUT for? These are not shown on manual.

2. MENU SETTINGS - (5) AV1 (Front View) Settings, Parking Distance Control is NOT selectable to allow setting, even though manual says it should be! How do I correct this? I want front view cam to display as advertised but also front PDC to display on screen.

3. IDRIVE CONTROL.

To change MODES, Menu button long press works.

LEFT PUSH - does not function at all! Why not?

RIGHT PUSH - Gives FULL and PIP mode 1 only, NO PIP Mode 2. Why not?

Once in PIP 1 mode system locks up and will not return to FULL mode, only way out is to hold OPTIONS button and then do reset.

How to sort this?

LEFT PUSH Does not function at all. How to sort this?

As you can see a good few issues. Unit is correctly connected as per your instructions, CAN high and low connected and tested as okay.

DIP Switch Settings:

1- OFF
2- OFF
3- OFF
4- ON
5- ON
6- OFF
7- OFF
8- OFF
9- OFF
10- OFF

Can someone possibly assist?

Hello.
1. They are not used.
2. Please provide a short video of this problem.
3. as for the LEFT Button: select AV2 and then press and hold the left button on the iDrive control for 2 seconds. If this doesn't work then please provide a short video of the issue.
as for the Right button: please provide a short video of the issue.

Okay lets deal with AV1 1st

Video shows that parking distance control is not selectable. It just skips over the option. No way to select it.

So cannot control parking distance control.

An issue whilst in the settings menu is also occurring. Any key press or controller click is also affecting the actual drive screen behind the units settings menu.

Avoid this interface it just does not work as advertised. Tech support a waste of time as well. Now had to raise a Paypal case to get a refund!

PIP on AV1 does not function. Menu items cannot be selected.

More importantly you cannot use PDC in PIP due to your commands issuing wrong directives. All clearly detailed to you in video as you well know.

Even selecting PDC main screen 1st then right toggle to AV1 and right again to PIP changes away from PDC view due to the NBT unit also picking up the right toggles and changing screens in the background.

Just how hard it it to understand this, you now have 5 videos clearly showing you the issue by email. Switching off HDMI and AV2 should make no difference as the are not associated to AV1 and more importantly are you implying that you cannot have HDMI and AV2 if you have a front camera on AV1 - nonsense!

You really need to sort your selves out over this matter.

Just admit it does not work and are just wasting all our time!
