2014 impala new style 8" Screen.

Postby vid67 » 13 Oct 2016, 07:42

I have a compatibility question for ya. I have a 2014 new style impala with the 8" screen. I have a video interface installed IW03C-SB and a CS9500h nav unit. All from carsolutions.com and it works okay . The video interface allows for extra video device through hdmi. I am using a minix neo U1 android tv box and I would like the touch to work. I have already purchased 2 items to make this work. A touch screen switcher and a resistive touch usb controller. SEE link. http://car-solutions.com/en/universal-o ... urrency=17 I also purchased a hid touch screen controller from here see link http://www.liymo.com/index.php?route=pr ... controller . I hope to interface at the touch screen because the iw03-sb only activates the touch when the cs9500h is in use. Does anyone know if the new impala screen is a 4 or 8 pin setup on resistive touch screen? Does it use a ribbon connection? Also the new impala screen moves up and down to access a storge area in behind the screen. Anyone have any suggestions that could help with this install. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello.
These cars use capacitive touch panels, so it's neither 8pin nor 4pin ribbon cable and since touch on the video interface works only for NAVI input we don't really know how to make touch work with the navigation box and another device
at the same time .

Sorry but my car most definitely has a resistive touch screen. It's a new style 2014 impala lt2. I already have touch working on the cs9500h. See http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2484229,00.asp

We've checked once again and you're right, it's a resestive screen. However, we still don't really know how to make touch work with the navigation box and another device .
