PCM2.1 on Boxster 987 - Interface video

Postby laurent130668 » 16 Feb 2014, 18:18

Hi,

I would like to instal a rear view camera, using the screen of my PCM2.1.

For doing this, I have to instal an video interface... I see your product for the Cayenne, but I'would know if the PCM2.1 of the Cayenne is the same as mine: will it fit to my PCM2.1 ?

Thank you for your answer.

Best regards

Hello.

This video interface fits PCM2.1 head units regardless of the cars in which they are installed. PCM2.1 head units are the same for all cars.

Hi,

Thank you for your answer!

Only 2 questions more:
- with the rear camera, does the screen automatically switch?
- do you ship to Switzerland, and how much? (at 2300 La Chaux-de-Fonds)

Best regards

Hello.
1. Yes, it will switch if everything is connected correctly. Rear view lamp wire should be connected to the rear-c (gray wire from the interface ) through relay.
2. Yes, we deliver to Switzerland. You will see the price in the order (depends on the delivery company) or you can ask the manager to count it for you.

Sorry, but I always have a doubt...

The PCM2.1 installed in the Boxster 987 has a facade different of the PCM 2.1 installed in Cayenne : the PCM 2.1 of the Boxster (identical as the PCM 2.1 of the Porsche 997) has a buttons SOS for emergency calls.

Now, I see that you have one interface for the Porsche 977. If it is about MY 04-08, they are also equipped of the PCM 2.1, identical as the one installed in the Boxster 987.

So, I ask myself if the right interface is the one for the PCM 2.1 Cayenne, or this one for the 977...

I'm sorry, but I don't want to make a mistake.

Best regards.

Hi.
To make sure what video interface fits for your car, you need to disassemble the head unit and look how many pins there are in the min FFC cable. In case it's 30-pin FFC - you need the video interface for PCM 2.1, if there are 24 pins - you need the video interface for Porsche 977.
